The Optimist Club of Solano County thanks the Sponsors for the 2015 Miniature Golf Tournament Donations2

The Optimist Club of Solano County would like to thank the generous sponsors, endorsers, volunteers, presenters and the staff at Scandia Family Fun Center at who stepped up to create a safe and eventful Halloween at the Scandia Family Fun Center in Fairfield, CA. on October 30, 2015 for the kids of Aldea Children & Family Services and the Vacaville Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club.

The children played a round of golf with their friends, won candy at various Halloween themed games inside the haunted ghoulish banquet room, had fun decorating pumpkins and were mesmerized with Deputy Sheriff’s Terry Haley and Brandi Aguilar. Valor, their K-9 crime fighting champion definitely stole the show and won the hearts of plenty princesses and Spidermen.

The Optimist Club of Solano County thanks the Sponsors for the 2015 Miniature Golf Tournament Donations1Sponsorships from Remax Gold, Solano Mortgage, Benicia Police Department, Integrity Auto Collision, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cache Creek, Costco of Vacaville, Amici’s, Mary’s Pizza Shack, Travis Credit Union, in increments of $10.00 sponsored a child from Aldea Family Services or The Vacaville Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club to participate in this fun family friendly event. The generous Sponsorships were greatly appreciated and provided a special treat for some great deserving kids. This was a perfect opportunity for children to participate in a fun, safe event together during the Halloween season while raising funds for child based projects in Solano County.

When Chris Powell’s wife came home and told him about the foster children and kids at the club, he knew that his company Remax Gold could make sure that all the kids would be able to attend. So what did Chris Powell do? He made a pledge that the RE/MAX Gold-Vacaville office would sponsor all 100 kids at $10 a child. RE/MAX Gold-Vacaville did just that, they raised $1000 to sponsor every child.

Chris says, “Thanks goes out to Alicia Chamblee our fantastic administrator who headed the campaign and took the lead in raising the $1000. Special thanks also goes out to all Vacaville agents; Andrew Lamb, Tom Arnold, Gloria Lamb, Harvey Fry, Leticia Rosa, Thomasine Peters, Jim Smith, Sally Smith, Melanie Wright, Terry Hughes, Gloria Ramirez, Kathy Salling, Glenn Adams, Diana Adams, Tim Hildebrand, Kris Haugen, Alicia Chamblee, Hector Ontiveros, Chris Powell who donated. RE/MAX Gold is committed to giving back to the community!”

The awareness of this great cause would not have reached so many caring people if it
were not for the Daily Republic, The Grapevine, Vacaville Magazine, The Vacaville Reporter – Around Town and KUIC. Our local media is truly invested in our community’s children.

Of course what is a sweet Halloween without candy? Front2Back Designs graciously supplied the appreciative children with their sturdy trick or treat bags and Portrero Hills Landfill and Franklin Distillers generously donated the candy to fill them. To Scandia Family Fun Center and Solano County
Sheriff, The Optimist Club of Solano County thanks you so much for the venue and great educational The Optimist Club of Solano County thanks the Sponsors for the 2015 Miniature Golf Tournament Donationspresentation.
