Every kid needs a champion

I came across this exciting uplifting video on Ted the other day and was inspired to share. Growing up, I was blessed to have a few invested teachers that helped me through my studies when my home life was not so encouraging with my school work. I experienced a couple “paycheck teachers” as I call them, as well and wished they would have had a little bit of a clue or interest in the kids that were attending their lessons. Any investment would have made world of a difference to those that were struggling at home. My son, Christopher has been blessed to have some extraordinary teachers that will live in his heart for years to come, only experiencing one paycheck teacher so far. Children are so absorbent that it is extremely important to choose wisely if you accept the role of a mentor.

Rita Pierson, a teacher of 40 plus years is an amazing role model for ALL teachers and I am sure that her students are and were honored to be her pupils.  My life work focuses on CONNECTIONS. This teacher preaches the connection philosophy effectively, engraining these humanitarian ideals in her children early so they can soak them up like a sponge!
