April was first declared Child Abuse Prevention Month by presidential proclamation in 1983. Since then, April has been a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse.
This year, we ask you to help us spread awareness on social media. First, “like” Darkness to Light on Facebook. Then, scroll through our feed to the post asking you to change your profile picture and/or cover photo to one of our child sexual abuse awareness images for the month of April.
We’re also holding an Instagram photo challenge for the month of April. Follow us on Instagram, tag @d2lorg and use the hashtag #D2L in your daily challenge photos. Each day you participate, you’ll be entered into a drawing for D2L swag.
