Golden Wings

golden wings

On the path of dreams that really do come true,
There are golden wings that wait for you.

A boy who learns to fly becomes a man who touches the sky.
A brother a man a father who reached higher than high

There are golden wings that wait for you.

As a father he sits in the garden with his young son and wonders
Of himself as a boy and his own childhood full of joy.

There are golden wings that wait for you.

In the calm of the wind and angel came to say,
Tell your boy that today heaven touched your wings.
As you passed by God whispered in your ear,

There are golden wings that wait for you; they are in the garden,
The garden of the Goddess where you left them, golden wings wait
For you.

They wait for a boy who touched the sky, a brother a man a father who reached higher than high!

This poem is dedicated to my father who reached higher than high.
A special dedication to those who lost their lives on the Space Shuttle Columbia as this poem was written the night before.
