Taking a stand on Sexual Assault in the YouTube community

YouTube has become a living moving culture, filled with its own celebrities and innovators. People of all ages and social interests have a genre to follow. Recently a seventeen year old YouTuber by the name of ThirdPew has taken the stand against sexual assault displayed in the YouTube world. He addresses an article written by blogger,  Erin Gloria Ryan on Jezebel.com which brings to the forefront some vloggers with a pretty large follower base who take advantage of their fan’s admiration by coercing those underage and of even manipulating those of age into doing sexually inappropriate acts. There are even instances of sexual harassment or sexual abuse, resulting in these Youtubers fabricating petty excuses or making shallow apologies, claiming “everyone makes mistakes” as ThirdPew quotes one vlogger in saying. ThirdPew calls out these YouTube celebrities to own their actions, to apologize and MEAN IT, and to stop hiding behind ignorance, as the only way to redeem themselves. ThirdPew, This basic moral valued seventeen year old reminds these predators that all,”rape is a very conscious and active decision.” To get help or if you experience any abusive interaction, go to the RAINN organization for valuable information.
