Today is a step forward for millions of survivors like me who are waiting for these critical rights. I remember walking out of the hospital after my rape kit procedure was done and feeling so alone and helpless. There aren’t enough words to describe how grateful and hopeful I am to see members from both parties support this despite today’s partisan political climate.
